| SMI, Specialty Measurements Inc., founded in 1982 brings over 25 years of engineering excellence to its line of solid dosage equipment. Initially, SMI designed instrumentation systems for pharmaceutical equipment. SMI introduced a tablet press of its own, the Piccola. The Piccola was the first bench top tablet press designed for R&D. The success of the Piccola spurred the development of a complete line of solid dosage equipment. Today SMI's products include: tablet presses, tablet press containment systems, roller compactors, granulators, fluid bed driers, blenders and cone mills. Building on the past achievements of its R&D equipment, SMI is currently introducing small to medium sized production machines that exhibit the strong instrumentation history of the company.
